 ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਛੰਤ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਅਕਥੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਰਾਖਨ ਕਉ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥੧॥ ਛੰਤੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਿਆ ॥ ਕੇਤੇ ਗਨਉ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਵਗਣ ਮੇਰਿਆ ॥ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਵਗਣ ਖਤੇ ਫੇਰੇ ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਦ ਭੂਲੀਐ ॥ ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਘੂਲੀਐ ॥ ਲੂਕ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰਿਆ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਕਾਢਿ ਭਵਜਲ ਫੇਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਸਲੋਕੁ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਦੀ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ! ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ।੧।

ਛੰਤੁ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਣੋ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ। ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਕਿਤਨੇ ਕੁ ਔਗੁਣ ਗਿਣਾਂ? ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਔਗੁਣ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਅਣਿਗਣਤ ਹੀ ਔਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਤ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਕਾਈ ਖਾ ਜਾਈਦੀ ਹੈ। ਭਿਆਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਚ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਵਿਕਾਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜੇ (ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ।੧।

ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ਅਸੰਖ ਗੁਣ ਊਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥ ਛੰਤੁ ॥ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ਕਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ ਅਰਪਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਈਐ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮਣਾ (ਵਡੱਪਣ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ (ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਹੀ) ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ।੨।

ਛੰਤੁ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਅਸੀ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ? ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਭਾਲਣ ਦਾ ਭੈੜ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰਾ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ (ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਹੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੩॥ ਛੰਤੁ ॥ ਸਾਥੀਅੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਨੀ ॥ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਆ ਗਨੀ ॥ ਭਜੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਅਨ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਹਰੇਕ (ਜੀਵਨ-) ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਹੀ ਧਨ) ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਛੰਤੁ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਕੀਹ ਗਿਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਹਾਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਜਿ ਚਿਤਵਿਆ ਸੋ ਮੈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਖ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥੪॥ ਛੰਤੁ ॥ ਅਬ ਮਨੁ ਛੂਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਲੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਿਟੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਬੁਝੀ ਤਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਨੇ ਆਪਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਲੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਲਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਦੁਖ ਜਲੇ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਇਕ ਪਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ (ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) , ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਭੀ ਮੰਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।੪। ਛੰਤੁ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੜਨ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਆਦਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੜ (ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ) ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੨। JAITSREE, FIFTH MEHL, SECOND HOUSE, CHHANT:

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU: SHALOK:

God is lofty, unapproachable and infinite. He is indescribable- He cannot be described. Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, who is all-powerful to save us. || 1 || CHHANT: Save me, any way You can; O Lord God, I am Yours. My demerits are uncountable; how many of them should I count? The sins and crimes I committed are countless; day by day, I continually make mistakes. I am intoxicated by emotional attachment to Maya, the treacherous one; by Your Grace alone can I be saved. Secretly, I commit hideous sins of corruption, even though God is the nearest of the near. Prays Nanak, shower me with Your Mercy, Lord, and lift me up, out of the whirlpool of the terrifying world-ocean. || 1 || SHALOK: Countless are His virtues; they cannot be enumerated. God’s Name is lofty and exalted. This is Nanak’s humble prayer, to bless the homeless with a home. || 2 || CHHANT: There is no other place at all - where else should I go? Twenty-four hours a day, with my palms pressed together, I meditate on God. Meditating forever on my God, I receive the fruits of my mind’s desires. Renouncing pride, attachment, corruption and duality, I lovingly center my attention on the One Lord. Dedicate your mind and body to God; eradicate all your self-conceit. Prays Nanak, shower me with Your mercy, Lord, that I may be absorbed in Your True Name. || 2 || SHALOK: O mind, meditate on the One, who holds everything in His hands. Gather the wealth of the Lord’s Name; O Nanak, it shall always be with You. || 3 || CHHANT: God is our only True Friend; there is not any other. In the places and interspaces, in the water and on the land, He Himself is pervading everywhere. He is totally permeating the water, the land and the sky; God is the Great Giver, the Lord and Master of all. The Lord of the world, the Lord of the universe has no limit; His Glorious Virtues are unlimited- how can I count them? I have hurried to the Sanctuary of the Lord Master, the Bringer of peace; without Him, there is no other at all. Prays Nanak, that being, unto whom the Lord shows mercy - he alone obtains the Naam. || 3 || SHALOK: Whatever I wish for, that I receive. Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Nanak has found total peace. || 4 || CHHANT: My mind is now emancipated; I have joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. As Gurmukh, I chant the Naam, and my light has merged into the Light. Remembering the Lord’s Name in meditation, my sins have been erased; the fire has been extinguished, and I am satisfied. He has taken me by the arm, and blessed me with His kind mercy; He has accepted me His own. The Lord has hugged me in His embrace, and merged me with Himself; the pains of birth and death have been burnt away. Prays Nanak, He has blessed me with His kind mercy; in an instant, He unites me with Himself. || 4 || 2 ||

 ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੨    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੀਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਖਹੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਧੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ। ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੋਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ। (ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ) , ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਹੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ (ਦੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ) ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹੈ।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ। ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।੭।

His Ambrosial Amrit is so sweet to my mind and body. ਰਾਗੁ ਧਨਾਸਿਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੪    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਹਮ ਭੀਖਕ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਨਿਜ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ ਹੋਹੁ ਦੈਆਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਕੰਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਹੰਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਚੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ॥ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਪਏ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਬ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੀ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੨॥ ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮ ਪਟ ਖੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਸਾਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥੧॥੯॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ; ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ।੧। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੇੜ ਪੈ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ, ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ। ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਭਰਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।੧।੯। RAAG DHANAASAREE, THIRD MEHL, FOURTH HOUSE:

ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਠੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਮੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੜੀਆਹ ॥੧੦॥

ਅਰਥ: ਮੱਘਰ (ਦੇ ਠੰਢੇ-ਮਿੱਠੇ) ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ (ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ) ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲੀਆਂ (ਛੁੱਟੜ) ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਪੈਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਖਸਮਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕੱਲੀ ਨਿਖਸਮੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਕਈ ਵੈਰੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਿਆ) ਦੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਲਹਿੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਦਿੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਨੁਵਾਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀਰੇ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੱਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ।10।


BAARAH MAAHAA ~ THE TWELVE MONTHS: MAAJH, FIFTH MEHL, FOURTH HOUSE:

In the month of Maghar, those who sit with their Beloved Husband Lord are beautiful. How can their glory be measured? Their Lord and Master blends them with Himself. Their bodies and minds blossom forth in the Lord; they have the companionship of the Holy Saints. Those who lack the Company of the Holy, remain all alone. Their pain never departs, and they fall into the grip of the Messenger of Death. Those who have ravished and enjoyed their God, are seen to be continually exalted and uplifted. They wear the Necklace of the jewels, emeralds and rubies of the Lord’s Name. Nanak seeks the dust of the feet of those who take to the Sanctuary of the Lord’s Door. Those who worship and adore God in Maghar, do not suffer the cycle of reincarnation ever again.|| 10 ||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੬ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤਿਆ ਉਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਬਿਦਰ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਤੈ ਕਿਸਨੁ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਚਮਾਰੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਇਕ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਪਏ ਪਗਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥ ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲੋਕੁ ਛੀਪਾ ਕਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥ ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਕਢਾਇ ॥ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

ਅਰਥ: ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ, ਘਰ ੬ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ। ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਦਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਵੇਖੋ। ਉਸ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥ ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਭਗਤ) ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਚਮਾਰ (ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੨॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੀਂਬਾ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ, ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ) ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁੰਹਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

Meaning: Soohee, Fourth Mahalaa, Sixth House: One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: When someone of low social class chants the Lord’s Name, he obtains the state of highest dignity. Go and ask Bidar, the son of a maid; Krishna himself stayed in his house. ||1|| Listen, O humble Siblings of Destiny, to the Unspoken Speech of the Lord; it removes all anxiety, pain and hunger. ||1|| Pause || Ravidaas, the leather-worker, praised the Lord, and sang the Kirtan of His Praises each and every instant. Although he was of low social status, he was exalted and elevated, and people of all four castes came and bowed at his feet. ||2|| Naamdev loved the Lord; the people called him a fabric dyer. The Lord turned His back on the high-class Kh’shaatriyas and Brahmins, and showed His face to Naamdev. ||3|| All of the devotees and servants of the Lord have the tilak, the ceremonial mark, applied to their foreheads at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. Daas Nanak shall touch their feet night and day, if the Lord, the King, grants His Grace. ||4||1||8||

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਛੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਕਾਹੋ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਜਲੁ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਪੈਸਿ ਨ ਨਿਕਸੈ ਤਿਉ ਢੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਜੁਲਾਹੋ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਗਾ ਮੈ ਤਉ ਮਤਿ ਕਾ ਭੋਰਾ ॥ ਜਉ ਤਨੁ ਕਾਸੀ ਤਜਹਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਮਈਐ ਕਹਾ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਈ ਭਰਮਿ ਨ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਿਆ ਕਾਸੀ ਕਿਆ ਊਖਰੁ ਮਗਹਰੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਜਉ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥੩॥

ਅਰਥ: ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮੁੜ) ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਕਬੀਰ) ਜੁਲਾਹ (ਭੀ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ) ਮੈਂ ਮੱਤ ਦਾ ਕਮਲਾ ਹੀ ਸਹੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਖਣ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਗਹਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ) । (ਪਰ,) ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਸਰੀਰ ਛੱਡੇਂ (ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ) ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਹ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਇਗਾ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਉਂਞ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਰਨ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਲਾਭ?।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਪਰ) ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਪੈ ਜਾਏ (ਕਿ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਮਗਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ) , ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਕੀਹ ਤੇ ਕਲਰਾਠਾ ਮਗਹਰ ਕੀਹ (ਦੋਹੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੨।੩।

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੀਰਥ-ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੩।

That humble being, who knows even a little about loving devotional worship — what surprises are there for him? Like water, dripping into water, which cannot be separated out again, so is the weaver Kabeer, with softened heart, merged into the Lord. || 1 || O people of the Lord, I am just a simple-minded fool. If Kabeer were to leave his body at Benares, and so liberate himself, what obligation would he have to the Lord? || 1 || Pause || Says Kabeer, listen, O people — do not be deluded by doubt. What is the difference between Benares and the barren land of Maghar, if the Lord is within one’s heart? || 2 || 3 ||

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਗਨਹੁ ਅਭਾਗਾ ॥ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਗਿਓ ਅਮਿਅ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਪਾਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥ ਆਲਸੁ ਛੀਜਿ ਗਇਆ ਸਭੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਹ ਜਹ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਗਾ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਉਦਕੁ ਪੀਵਤ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਆਗੇ ਸਭਿ ਅਨੁਰਾਗਾ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੪੭॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਆਲਸ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਬਦ-ਕਿਸਮਤ ਸਮਝੋ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਜਿਧਰ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਉਥੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧਾਗਾ (ਸਾਰੇ ਮਣਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੋਹ-ਪਿਆਰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।੧੯।੪੭।

DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:

One who forgets the Lord of life, the Great Giver — know that he is most unfortunate. One whose mind is in love with the Lord’s lotus feet, obtains the pool of ambrosial nectar. || 1 || Your humble servant awakes in the Love of the Lord’s Name. All laziness has departed from his body, and his mind is attached to the Beloved Lord. || Pause || Wherever I look, the Lord is there; He is the string, upon which all hearts are strung. Drinking in the water of the Naam, servant Nanak has renounced all other loves. || 2 || 16 || 47 ||

The daily Hukamnama sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar including Punjabi and English translation audio ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਮੁਹ ਫਿਰੇ ਸੇ ਬਧੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਤੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਸਹਸਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਦੁਖ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ) ਬੱਧੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧। ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਹ ਫਿਰੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਛੁਟੜਿ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਦੁਹਚਾਰਣਿ ਬਦਨਾਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਖਸੀਅਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਉ ॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਹ ਥਾਂ ਨਾਹ ਥਿੱਤਾ; ਉਹ ਵਿਭ-ਚਾਰਨ ਛੁੱਟੜ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਜੋ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਸੇ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਜੋ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਛਡਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਸੇ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਧੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਲਇਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਮਇਆ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭਉ ਗਇਆ ॥੭॥  ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਂਵਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਮ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਨਮਾਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ; (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਰਮ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ।੭।  SHALOK THIRD MEHL:  Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru, suffer in sorrow and bondage. Again and again, they are born only to die; they cannot meet their Lord. The disease of doubt does not depart, and they find only pain and more pain. O Nanak, if the Gracious Lord forgives, then one is united in Union with the Word of the Shabad. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru, shall find no place of rest or shelter. They wander around from door to door, like a woman forsaken, with a bad character and a bad reputation. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs are forgiven, and united in Union with the True Guru. || 2 || PAUREE: Those who serve the True Lord, the Destroyer of ego, cross over the terrifying world-ocean. Those who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are passed over by the Messenger of Death. Those who meditate on the Lord, go to His Court in robes of honor. They alone serve You, O Lord, whom You bless with Grace.  ਰਾਗੁ ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੩    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਮਿਥਨ ਮੋਹ ਅਗਨਿ ਸੋਕ ਸਾਗਰ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਉਧਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਗਰ ॥੧॥ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਣਾਇ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅਨਾਥਾ ਨਾਥ ਭਗਤ ਭੈ ਮੇਟਨ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਨ ਭੇਟਨ ॥੨॥ ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ ਰਵਣ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਜਾਲਾ ॥੩॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਪੈ ॥ ਰੋਗ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਇਆ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥੪॥ ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਭਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਪੋਹਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚ ਬਟਵਾਰੇ ॥੫॥ ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ ਸਰਬ ਫਲਾ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੭॥ ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੮॥੧॥੨॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ! ਹੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਹਰੀ! ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ; ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ, ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਨਿਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਮਦੂਤ (ਭੀ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੇ (ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ।੨।

ਹੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ! ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) , ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ।੪।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਾਮਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪੰਜੇ ਲੁਟੇਰੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਦਬਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।੫।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ, ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੬।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਦਿੱਤਾ।੭।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੮।੧।੨।
