 ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਰਾਗੁ ਸੂਹੀ ਛੰਤ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਘਰੁ ੪ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਗੁ ਧੰਧੜੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਦਾਨਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਤਨਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਚੰਦੋ ਦੀਪਾਇਆ ਦਾਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਉਠਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਜੰਞ ਲਾੜੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਸੋਹੈ ਪਰਖਿ ਮੋਹਣੀਐ ਲਇਆ ॥ ਵੀਵਾਹੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੋਭ ਸੇਤੀ ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਗੁ ਧੰਧੜੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਮੀਤਾ ਅਵਰੀਤਾ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਗਾਡਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਅੜਾ ਦੀਤਾ ॥ ਲੀਆ ਤ ਦੀਆ ਮਾਨੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਿਉ ਸੇ ਸਜਨ ਕਿਉ ਵੀਸਰਹਿ ॥ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਅ ਸੇਤੀ ਗਹਿ ਰਹਹਿ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਹਿ ਨੀਤਾ ਨੀਤਾ ॥ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਮੀਤਾ ਅਵਰੀਤਾ ॥੨॥ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਾਸੁਲਾ ਕਢਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਲਈਜੈ ॥ ਜੇ ਗੁਣ ਹੋਵਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਝ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥ ਸਾਝ ਕਰੀਜੈ ਗੁਣਹ ਕੇਰੀ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਚਲੀਐ ॥ ਪਹਿਰੇ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਕਰਿ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿੜੁ ਮਲੀਐ ॥ ਜਿਥੈ ਜਾਇ ਬਹੀਐ ਭਲਾ ਕਹੀਐ ਝੋਲਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਾਸੁਲਾ ਕਢਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਲਈਜੈ ॥੩॥ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਹੋਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਆਖਣ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਾਈਐ ਜੇ ਭੂਲੜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਾਇ ਕਹੀਐ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਿਉ ਭੁਲੈ ॥ ਸੁਣੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਬਾਝੁ ਕਹਿਐ ਦਾਨੁ ਅਣਮੰਗਿਆ ਦਿਵੈ ॥ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਗਿ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਹੋਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥

The One who created the world, watches over it; He enjoins the people of the world to their tasks. Your gifts, O Lord, illuminate the heart, and the moon casts its light on the body. The moon glows, by the Lord s gift, and the darkness of suffering is taken away. The marriage party of virtue looks beautiful with the Groom; He chooses His enticing bride with care. The wedding is performed with glorious splendor; He has arrived, accompanied by the vibrations of the Panch Shabad, the Five Primal Sounds. The One who created the world, watches over it; He enjoins the people of the world to their tasks. || 1 || I am a sacrifice to my pure friends, the immaculate Saints. This body is attached to them, and we have shared our minds. We have shared our minds how could I forget those friends? Seeing them brings joy to my heart; I keep them clasped to my soul. They have all virtues and merits, forever and ever; they have no demerits or faults at all. I am a sacrifice to my pure friends, the immaculate Saints. || 2 || One who has a basket of fragrant virtues, should enjoy its fragrance. If my friends have virtues, I will share in them. Let us form a partnership, and share our virtues; let us abandon our faults, and walk on the Path. Let us wear our virtues like silk clothes; let us decorate ourselves, and enter the arena. Let us speak of goodness, wherever we go and sit; let us skim off the Ambrosial Nectar, and drink it in. One who has a basket of fragrant virtues, should enjoy its fragrance. || 3 || He Himself acts; unto whom should we complain? No one else does anything. Go ahead and complain to Him, if He makes a mistake. If He makes a mistake, go ahead and complain to Him; but how can the Creator Himself make a mistake? He sees, He hears, and without our asking, without our begging, He gives His gifts. The Great Giver, the Architect of the Universe, gives His gifts. O Nanak, He is the True Lord. He Himself acts; unto whom should we complain? No one else does anything.|| 4 || 1 || 4 ||

 

ਰਾਗੁ ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ ੧    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਅਵਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਾ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਾ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚਵਾ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਦ ਮੀਠੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਪਾਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਾਇਆ ਸੇਜ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਭੋਗੋ ॥ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੁਖਿ ਮਾਣੇ ਨਿਤ ਰਲੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੋ ॥੧॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਾਂ, ਅਤੇ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ) ਔਗੁਣ ਵੇਚ ਦਿਆਂ (ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ) । ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਪਾਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਡਰ-ਸਹਿਮ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਸੁਖ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) , ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।੧। ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਕੁੜਮੁ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਆਇਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲੁ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਾਈਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰ ਗਾਈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਪੰਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੋਹਾਇਆ ॥ ਗਇਆ ਕਰੋਧੁ ਮਮਤਾ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਠੀ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਪੀਰ ਗਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਰੋਗਤ ਭਏ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੨॥ : ਹੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ। (ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ-ਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਦੌੜਨ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠੇ, ਤੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੱਸ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਖੰਡ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ। (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਿਰੋਆ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ।੨। ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਦੂਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਬਲਿ ਗਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਮਤਾ ਕੂਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਵਿਹਾਝੇ ਕੂੜਿ ਲਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਉਝੜ ਪੰਥਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੈ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਧਕੇ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਜਨ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥੩॥ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਝੂਠੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੀ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਸਦਾ) ਝੂਠ ਠੱਗੀ (ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ) ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ। ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ (ਜਿਥੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਲੁਟੇਰੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਭਟਕਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਧੱਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩। ਆਇਆ ਲਗਨੁ ਗਣਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਨ ਓਮਾਹੀਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪਾਧੇ ਆਣਿ ਪਤੀ ਬਹਿ ਵਾਚਾਈਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਪਤੀ ਵਾਚਾਈ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਜਬ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੁਣੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਬਹਿ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਫੇਰੇ ਤਤੁ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਦ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਬਾਲ ਸਖਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥  (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਲਾੜਾ) ਮੁਹੂਰਤ ਕਢਾ ਕੇ (ਜੰਞ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ,) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਾਂਧੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ (ਫੇਰੇ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵੇਲਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਾਂਧੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ) ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਧਰ) ਜਦੋਂ (ਵਿਆਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਨਿਆ) ਸੱਜਣ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਸੁਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਚੱਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਣਵਾਨ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਤੁਰਤ ਫੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਚੱਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਰਸੀਏ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ) । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ) ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਨਵੇਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਚਲਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਦੀ।੪।੧। RAAG SOOHEE, FOURTH MEHL, CHHANT, FIRST HOUSE:

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

If only I could meet the True Guru, the Primal Being. Discarding my faults and sins, I would chant the Lord’s Glorious Praises. I meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Continuously, continually, I chant the Word of the Guru’s Bani. Gurbani always seems so sweet; I have eradicated the sinful residues from within. The disease of egotism is gone, fear has left, and I am absorbed in celestial peace. Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the bed of my body has become cozy and beautiful, and I enjoy the essence of spiritual wisdom. Night and day, I continually enjoy peace and pleasure. O Nanak, this is my pre-ordained destiny. || 1 || The soul-bride is lovingly embellished with truth and contentment; her Father, the Guru, has come to engage her in marriage to her Husband Lord. Joining with the humble Saints, I sing Gurbani. Singing the Guru’s Bani, I have obtained the supreme status; meeting with the Saints, the self-elect, I am blessed and adorned. Anger and attachment have left my body and run away; I have eradicated hypocrisy and doubt. The pain of egotism is gone, and I have found peace; my body has become healthy and free of disease. By Guru’s Grace, O Nanak, I have realized God, the ocean of virtue. || 2 || The self-willed manmukh is separated, far away from God; she does not obtain the Mansion of His Presence, and she burns. Egotism and falsehood are deep within her; deluded by falsehood, she deals only in falsehood. Practicing fraud and falsehood, she suffers terrible pain; without the True Guru, she does not find the way. The foolish soul-bride wanders along dismal pathways; each and every moment, she is bumped and pushed. God, the Great Giver, shows His Mercy, and leads her to meet the True Guru, the Primal Being. Those beings who have been separated for countless incarnations, O Nanak, are reunited with the Lord, with intuitive ease. || 3 || Calculating the most auspicious moment, the Lord comes into the bride’s home; her heart is filled with ecstasy. The Pandits and astrologers have come, to sit and consult the almanacs. They have consulted the almanacs, and the bride’s mind vibrates with bliss, when she hears that her Friend is coming into the home of her heart. The virtuous and wise men sat down and decided to perform the marriage immediately. She has found her Husband, the Inaccessible, Unfathomable Primal Lord, who is forever young; He is her Best Friend from her earliest childhood. O Nanak, he has mercifully united the bride with Himself. She shall never be separated again. || 4 || 1 ||

ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥਾ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਉਤਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਰਿਨੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਅਰਥਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧।

Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. || 3 || I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path?
