ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਧਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਗੂੜਾ ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੨॥ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ ਸਾਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੩॥. ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਧਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਗੂੜਾ ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੨॥ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ ਸਾਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ (ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ) ਲਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਐਸਾ) ਧਨ (ਹੈ ਜੋ) ਸਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਕਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ (-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ) ਦਾ ਇਹ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਰੰਗ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਗਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਦਾਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਮਿਲੀ) ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮੌਜੂਦ ਚਲਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੪।੩।

DHANAASAREE, THIRD MEHL:

Gather in and cherish forever the wealth of the Lord’s Name, deep within; He cherishes and nurtures all beings and creatures. They alone obtain the treasure of Liberation, who are lovingly imbued with, and focused on the Lord’s Name. || 1 || Serving the Guru, one obtains the wealth of the Lord’s Name. He is illumined and enlightened within, and he meditates on the Lord’s Name. || Pause || This love for the Lord is like the love of the bride for her husband. God ravishes and enjoys the soul-bride who is adorned with peace and tranquility. No one finds God through egotism. Wandering away from the Primal Lord, the root of all, one wastes his life in vain. || 2 || Tranquility, celestial peace, pleasure and the Word of His Bani come from the Guru. True is that service, which leads one to merge in the Naam. Blessed with the Word of the Shabad, he meditates forever on the Lord, the Beloved. Through the True Name, glorious greatness is obtained. || 3 || The Creator Himself abides throughout the ages. If He casts His Glance of Grace, then we meet Him. Through the Word of Gurbani, the Lord comes to dwell in the mind. O Nanak, God unites with Himself those who are imbued with Truth. || 4 || 3 ll

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ਇਹ ਜਗਿ ਮੀਤੁ ਨ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ਅਪਨੈ ਸੁਖਿ ਲਾਗਿਓ ਦੁਖ ਮੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਦਾਰਾ ਮੀਤ ਪੂਤ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਸਗਰੇ ਧਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਨਰ ਕਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਸਭ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਕਹਂਉ ਕਹਾ ਯਿਆ ਮਨ ਬਉਰੇ ਕਉ ਇਨ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਸਕਲ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥੨॥ ਸੁਆਨ ਪੂਛ ਜਿਉ ਭਇਓ ਨ ਸੂਧਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਤਨੁ ਮੈ ਕੀਨਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਾਜ ਬਿਰਦ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਉ ਲੀਨਉ ॥੩॥੯॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ (ਤੋੜ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਮੈਂ) ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁੱਟਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ (ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਮਿੱਤਰ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ, (ਤਦੋਂ) ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨੱਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਝੱਲੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਹ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂ? (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਇਹਨਾਂ (ਕੱਚੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ) ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਭੁਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਦੀ ਪੂਛਲ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਲੋਂ ਲਾ-ਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਹਟਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ) ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੁਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ (ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੩।੯।

SORAT’H, NINTH MEHL:

In this world, I have not found any true friend. The whole world is attached to its own pleasures, and when trouble comes, no one is with you. || 1 || Pause || Wives, friends, children and relatives — all are attached to wealth. When they see a poor man, they all forsake his company and run away. || 1 || So what should I say to this crazy mind, which is affectionately attached to them? The Lord is the Master of the meek, the Destroyer of all fears, and I have forgotten to praise Him. || 2 || Like a dog’s tail, which will never straighten out, the mind will not change, no matter how many things are tried. Says Nanak, please, Lord, uphold the honor of Your innate nature; I chant Your Name. || 3 || 9 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ⁷ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਵਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀ ਪਾਹ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ (ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਚੋਲਾ (ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ, ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ) ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।੧।

(ਪਰ, ਹਾਂ!) ਜੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ (ਨੀਲਾਰੀ ਦੀ) ਮੱਟੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ, ਤੇ ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਜੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਜੀਠ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੱਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਏ, ਫਿਰ ਮਾਲਿਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਨੀਲਾਰੀ (ਬਣ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਰੰਗ (ਦਾ ਡੋਬਾ) ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ।੨।

ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਸੱਜਣ!) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਚੋਲੇ (ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ) ਰੰਗੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਨਾਨਕ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ, ਭਲਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ।੩।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।੩।

The daily Hukamnama Sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar including Translation in Punjabi and English audio ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਭਗਤ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਕੀ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਹਮ ਸਰਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਬ ਪਤੀਆਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਬਚਨੀ ਤੋਰ ਮੋਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਰਮਈਆ ਕਾਰਨੇ ॥ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਵਨ ਅਬੋਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਸ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਚਿਰ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ॥੨॥੧॥  ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ!) ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇ, ਤੇਰੇ, ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਕੰਗਾਲਤਾ ਦਾ) ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਤਾਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਿਦਕ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰੇ।੧। ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ; ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ?।ਰਹਾਉ। ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਜਨਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ; ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਬੜਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।੧। ਭਾਵ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਰਦਾਸ।  DHANAASAREE, DEVOTEE RAVI DAAS JEE:  ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਠੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਮੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੜੀਆਹ ॥੧੦॥

ਅਰਥ: ਮੱਘਰ (ਦੇ ਠੰਢੇ-ਮਿੱਠੇ) ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ (ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ) ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲੀਆਂ (ਛੁੱਟੜ) ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਪੈਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਖਸਮਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕੱਲੀ ਨਿਖਸਮੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਕਈ ਵੈਰੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਿਆ) ਦੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਲਹਿੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਦਿੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਨੁਵਾਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀਰੇ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੱਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ।10।

In the month of Maghar, those who sit with their Beloved Husband Lord are beautiful. How can their glory be measured? Their Lord and Master blends them with Himself. Their bodies and minds blossom forth in the Lord; they have the companionship of the Holy Saints. Those who lack the Company of the Holy, remain all alone. Their pain never departs, and they fall into the grip of the Messenger of Death. Those who have ravished and enjoyed their God, are seen to be continually exalted and uplifted. They wear the Necklace of the jewels, emeralds and rubies of the Lord’s Name. Nanak seeks the dust of the feet of those who take to the Sanctuary of the Lord’s Door. Those who worship and adore God in Maghar, do not suffer the cycle of reincarnation ever again.|| 10 ||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੬ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤਿਆ ਉਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਬਿਦਰ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਤੈ ਕਿਸਨੁ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਚਮਾਰੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਇਕ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਪਏ ਪਗਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥ ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲੋਕੁ ਛੀਪਾ ਕਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥ ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਕਢਾਇ ॥ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

ਅਰਥ: ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ, ਘਰ ੬ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ। ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਦਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਵੇਖੋ। ਉਸ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥ ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਭਗਤ) ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਚਮਾਰ (ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੨॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੀਂਬਾ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ, ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ) ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁੰਹਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

Meaning: Soohee, Fourth Mahalaa, Sixth House: One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: When someone of low social class chants the Lord’s Name, he obtains the state of highest dignity. Go and ask Bidar, the son of a maid; Krishna himself stayed in his house. ||1|| Listen, O humble Siblings of Destiny, to the Unspoken Speech of the Lord; it removes all anxiety, pain and hunger. ||1|| Pause || Ravidaas, the leather-worker, praised the Lord, and sang the Kirtan of His Praises each and every instant. Although he was of low social status, he was exalted and elevated, and people of all four castes came and bowed at his feet. ||2|| Naamdev loved the Lord; the people called him a fabric dyer. The Lord turned His back on the high-class Kh’shaatriyas and Brahmins, and showed His face to Naamdev. ||3|| All of the devotees and servants of the Lord have the tilak, the ceremonial mark, applied to their foreheads at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. Daas Nanak shall touch their feet night and day, if the Lord, the King, grants His Grace. ||4||1||8||

  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਃ ੩ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਉਲਟੀ ਭਈ ਭਾਈ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਬੂਝ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਸੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਸਿਖੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਮਨ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਥਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ ਤੁਹ ਕੁਟਹਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਪਲੈ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੮॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਥਾਂ) ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਪਰਤ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਅਸਲ) ਸਿੱਖ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ) ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜੋ ਭੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਤੁਹ ਹੀ ਕੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ) ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਅਤੁੱਟ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੮।

Meeting the True Guru, one turns away from the world, O Siblings of Destiny; when he remains dead while yet alive, he obtains true understanding. He alone is the Guru, and he alone is a Sikh, O Siblings of Destiny, whose light merges in the Light. || 1 || O my mind, be lovingly attuned to the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Chanting the Name of the Lord, it seems so sweet to the mind, O Siblings of Destiny; the Gurmukhs obtain a place in the Court of the Lord. || Pause || Without the Guru, love for the Lord does not well up, O Siblings of Destiny; the self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in the love of duality. Actions performed by the manmukh are like the threshing of the chaff — they obtain nothing for their efforts. || 2 || Meeting the Guru, the Naam comes to permeate the mind, O Siblings of Destiny, with true love and affection. ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਛਾਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਰ ਮਾਸੇ ਦਾ ਵੱਟਾ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਸੌਖਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ) । ਉਹ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਈ (ਬੋਦੀ) ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵੱਟੇ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ) ਤੋਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸ਼ਾਹਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਕਾਰ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ (ਪਾਣੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਡਰ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਬੱਕਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਫਿਰਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ, (ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) ਲੱਕੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਰਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ) ਅੱਗ (ਲੱਕੜ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੀ ਸਾਹ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਤਾਕਤ ਵਰਤਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹਾਕਮ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ-) ਵਾਜਾ (ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਵਾਜਾ ਵਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ-ਵਾਜੇ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਵਜਾਏ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।੪।੪।

God Himself is the balance scale, He Himself is the weigher, and He Himself weighs with the weights. He Himself is the banker, He Himself is the trader, and He Himself makes the trades. The Beloved Himself fashioned the world, and He Himself counter-balances it with a gram. || 1 || My mind meditates on the Lord, Har, Har, and finds peace. The Name of the Beloved Lord, Har, Har, is a treasure; the Perfect Guru has made it seem sweet to me. || Pause || The Beloved Himself is the earth, and He Himself is the water; He Himself acts, and causes others to act. The Beloved Himself issues His Commands, and keeps the water and the land bound down. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜਾਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਿਉ ਹੀ ਜਗੁ ਫਾਂਧਿਓ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਸੁਖ ਮੈ ਆਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਬੈਠਤ ਰਹਤ ਚਹੂ ਦਿਸਿ ਘੇਰੈ ॥ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਪਰੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਛਾਡਿਤ ਕੋਊ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਨੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਘਰ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਤ ਸੰਗ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਹੰਸ ਤਜੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਂਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੨॥ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥ ਅੰਤ ਬਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੋਊ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ॥੩॥੧੨॥੧੩੯॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮਝ ਲੈ, (ਕਿ) ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬੱਝਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ (ਤੋੜ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਬਣਦਾ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ! ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ (ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ) ਕਈ ਯਾਰ ਦੋਸਤ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸ) ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਚੌਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਘੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ) ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਫਿਰ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ।੧।

ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਘਰ ਦੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਭੀ) , ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਦਾ (ਖਸਮ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਹੀ ਵੇਲੇ (ਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ) ਪਰੇ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ ਮਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲੇ ਸਮੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।੩।੧੨।੧੩੯।

SORAT’H, NINTH MEHL:

O dear friend, know this in your mind. The world is entangled in its own pleasures; no one is for anyone else. || 1 || Pause || In good times, many come and sit together, surrounding you on all four sides. But when hard times come, they all leave, and no one comes near you. || 1 || Your wife, whom you love so much, and who has remained ever attached to you, runs away crying, “Ghost! Ghost!”, as soon as the swan-soul leaves this body. || 2 || This is the way they act — those whom we love so much. At the very last moment, O Nanak, no one is any use at all, except the Dear Lord. || 3 || 12 || 139 ||

 ਗੂਜਰੀ ਕੀ ਵਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਸਿਕੰਦਰ ਬਿਰਾਹਿਮ ਕੀ ਵਾਰ ਕੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਗਾਉਣੀ   . ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੁਆ ਜੀਵਣ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੋ ਚਲੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵਣ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ ਓਇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਨ ਜੀਵਤੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਹਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਮਾਰ ॥ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਤੇ ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਰ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਵੀਚਾਰਹਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਾ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਮੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਖੁਆਰ ॥੨॥

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਓਨੁ ਤਦਹੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਮਤਾ ਮਸੂਰਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਤਦਹੁ ਆਕਾਸੁ ਨ ਪਾਤਾਲੁ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਈ ॥ ਤਦਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥

ਅਰਥ: ਇਹ ਜਗਤ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ) (ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ 'ਮੇਰੀ' ਬਣ ਜਾਏ, ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ 'ਮੇਰੀ' ਹੋ ਜਾਏ-ਇਸ) ਅਣਪੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਫਸਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੀ। ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕਹੇ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਮਝੋ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਅੱਪੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਥੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਲ ਮਨ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।੧।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਇਸ ਗ਼ਫ਼ਲਿਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕਦੇ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੌਖਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਝੰਬੇਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਖਪਾਣਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਆਪ ਸਹੇੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੀਚਾਰਦੇ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਸੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਗਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੌਤ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਮੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।੨।

ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ (ਹੀ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਸਲਾਹ ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਨਾਹ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਤ੍ਰੈਵੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ, ਕੋਈ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਅਜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋਈ, ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਜੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਸੀ।

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧।

This world (ie, every living being) (this thing becomes 'mine', this thing becomes 'mine'-this) is so stuck in the unknown that it is not trying to live. Those who walk on the words of Satguru, they learn the wisdom of life, those who attach their mind to the Lord's feet, understand, they live forever, (because) O Nanak! Faced with the Guru, the lord of mercy resides in the mind, and Gurmukhs reach a state where the mind does not dwell on material things. 1.

Those people who are infatuated with Maya, who are infatuated with the love of Maya, never wake up (from this oblivion), they have anxiety and conflict in their minds, they have brought this burden of the world's lamps on their heads. has happened

The habit of people who follow their own mind is that they never think about Gur-Shabad. O Nanak! They have not been blessed with the name of God, they perish without birth and the soul kills them and destroys them (ie, they are always suffering from the hands of death). 2.

When the Lord had created Himself, there was no one else, He used to do the consultation, and what He did was done. At that time there was no sky, no underworld and no these three people, no origin had yet taken place, the formless God was still Himself.
