ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਈ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ) ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੌਰਾ ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਧੂੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਪਟਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਲ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੋਰ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੋੜਦਾ, ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਹੋਰ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਤੋਂ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਤੋੜ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਕੜ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੁੰਘੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ) ਪਰਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਹੋਰ ਮੋਹ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।੨।੧੨੯।

BILAAVAL, FIFTH MEHL:  

 

My ego is gone; I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. I am absorbed in my Lord and Master, the help and support of the Saints. Now, I hold tight to His Feet.  || 1 ||  Pause  ||   My mind longs for Him, and does not love any other. I am totally absorbed, in love with His Lotus Feet, like the bumble bee attached to the honey of the lotus flower. I do not desire any other taste; I seek only the One Lord.  || 1 ||   I have broken away from the others, and I have been released from the Messenger of Death. O mind, drink in the subtle essence of the Lord; join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and turn away from the world. There is no other, none other than the Lord.  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਕਦੇ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਧਨਿ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਗੁ ਭੁਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਇਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਵਸਹਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਲੂਟਹਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸੁਣੈ ਪੂਕਾਰਾ ॥ ਅੰਧਾ ਜਗਤੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੇ ਕਿਹੁ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੩॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹਾ ॥ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਹਾ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਗਤ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੰਡ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਐਸਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਚੋਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੁੱਟਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਲੁਟਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ) ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ (ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

'ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਾਂ', 'ਇਹ ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ'-ਇਹ ਆਖ ਆਖ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੁਰਦੀ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੨।

SORAT’H, THIRD MEHL:

The True Lord has blessed His devotees with the treasure of devotional worship, and the wealth of the Lord’s Name. The wealth of the Naam, shall never be exhausted; no one can estimate its worth. With the wealth of the Naam, their faces are radiant, and they attain the True Lord. || 1 || O my mind, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the Lord is found. Without the Shabad, the world wanders around, and receives its punishment in the Court of the Lord. || Pause || Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism. They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint. The world is blind, and its dealings are blind as well; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. || 2 || Indulging in egotism and possessiveness, they are ruined; when they depart, nothing goes along with them. But one who becomes Gurmukh meditates on the Naam, and ever contemplates the Lord’s Name. Through the True Word of Gurbani, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; blessed with the Lord’s Glance of Grace, he is enraptured. || 3 || The spiritual wisdom of the True Guru is a steady light within the heart. The Lord’s decree is over the heads of even kings. Night and day, the Lord’s devotees worship Him; night and day, they gather in the true profit of the Lord’s Name. O Nanak, through the Lord’s Name, one is emancipated; attuned to the Shabad, he finds the Lord. || 4 || 2 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਗਤ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੰਡ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਐਸਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਚੋਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੁੱਟਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਲੁਟਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ) ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ (ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

'ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਾਂ', 'ਇਹ ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ'-ਇਹ ਆਖ ਆਖ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੁਰਦੀ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੨।

SORAT’H, THIRD MEHL:

The True Lord has blessed His devotees with the treasure of devotional worship, and the wealth of the Lord’s Name. The wealth of the Naam, shall never be exhausted; no one can estimate its worth. With the wealth of the Naam, their faces are radiant, and they attain the True Lord. || 1 || O my mind, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the Lord is found. Without the Shabad, the world wanders around, and receives its punishment in the Court of the Lord. || Pause || Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism. They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint. The world is blind, and its dealings are blind as well; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. || 2 || Indulging in egotism and possessiveness, they are ruined; when they depart, nothing goes along with them. But one who becomes Gurmukh meditates on the Naam, and ever contemplates the Lord’s Name. Through the True Word of Gurbani, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; blessed with the Lord’s Glance of Grace, he is enraptured. || 3 || The spiritual wisdom of the True Guru is a steady light within the heart. The Lord’s decree is over the heads of even kings. Night and day, the Lord’s devotees worship Him; night and day, they gather in the true profit of the Lord’s Name. O Nanak, through the Lord’s Name, one is emancipated; attuned to the Shabad, he finds the Lord. || 4 || 2 ||

  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਰਾਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਰਝਾਇਓ ਮਾਨਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥ ਲੋਭਨ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਭੀ ਲੋਭਾਇਓ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਚੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅਮਲਨ ਸਿਉ ਅਮਲੀ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ਭੂਮਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥ ਖੀਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਹੈ ਲੀਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਤ ਐਸੇ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਦੁਅੰਸੀ ਰਚਿਆ ਨੈਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥ ਜੈਸੇ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਾਦਿ ਲੁਭਾਨੀ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥ ਜੈਸੀ ਭੂਖ ਤੈਸੀ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਕੁ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਲਗੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੬॥ 

ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਣ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਦਾ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਹਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਬੱਚਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ (ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਪੜਾਣ) ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਭ (ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸੁਆਦ (ਚੱਖਣ) ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪ) ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੫।੧੬।

SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL:

As the king is entangled in kingly affairs, and the egotist in his own egotism, and the greedy man is enticed by greed, so is the spiritually enlightened being absorbed in the Love of the Lord. || 1 || This is what befits the Lord’s servant. Beholding the Lord near at hand, he serves the True Guru, and he is satisfied through the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises. || Pause || The addict is addicted to his drug, and the landlord is in love with his land. As the baby is attached to his milk, so the Saint is in love with God. || 2 || The scholar is absorbed in scholarship, and the eyes are happy to see. As the tongue savors the tastes, so does the humble servant of the Lord sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. || 3 || As is the hunger, so is the fulfiller; He is the Lord and Master of all hearts. Nanak thirsts for the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan; he has met God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. || 4 || 5 || 16 ||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਈ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਪਟੋ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੈਕਪਟੇ ਖਪਹਿ ਖਪਾਹੀ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਆਪਣੈ ਸੁਆਇ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾ ਨਾਨਕਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਲਤ ਰਹਹਿ ਦਿਨੁਰਾਤੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਖਪਹਿ ਖਪਾਹਿ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਦੁਖੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੇਈ ਬਿਚਖਣ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹਰਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਇਆ ॥੨੬॥  ਅਰਥ: (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲਿ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਦਕ ਨਹੀਂਹੁੰਦਾ; ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧੋਖਾ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੋਖਾ ਹੀ ਧੋਖਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਪ) ਦੁਖੀਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਭਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ) ਤੇਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦੇਹਨ।੧। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਦਾ; ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ(ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੋਭ-ਰੂਪਵੱਡਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ; ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਸਦਾਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹਰੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਲਏ।੨।ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਹਨ, ਭਗਤ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ।ਉਹੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ-ਰੂਪ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਂਦੇਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰੀ (ਦੇ ਭਜਨ-ਰੂਪ) ਤੀਰਥ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨੬। SHALOK, FOURTH MEHL:

He has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru. He has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined. The True Guru’s Will does not enter into his consciousness, and so he wanders around, pursuing his own interests. If He grants His Grace, then Nanak is absorbed into the Word of the Shabad. || 1 || FOURTH MEHL: The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment to Maya; in the love of duality, their minds are unsteady. Night and day, they are burning; day and night, they are totally ruined by their egotism. Within them, is the total pitch darkness of greed, and no one even approaches them. They themselves are miserable, and they never find peace; they are born, only to die, and die again. O Nanak, the True Lord God forgives those, who focus their consciousness on the Guru’s feet. || 2 || PAUREE: That Saint, that devotee, is acceptable, who is loved by God. Those beings are wise, who meditate on the Lord. They eat the food, the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. They apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to their foreheads. O Nanak, they are purified, bathing in the sacred shrine of the Lord. || 26 ||

ਅਸੁਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉਮਾਹੜਾ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਦਰਸਨ ਘਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਵਿਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ ਸਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥ ਅਸੂ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸੰਦੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੮॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਭਾਦਰੋਂ ਦੇ ਘੁੰਮੇ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਾਟਕੇ ਲੰਘਣ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ) ਅੱਸੂ (ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਰੁੱਤ) ਵਿਚ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ) ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਉਛਾਲਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਮਨ ਤੜਫਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਚਿੱਤ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕੋਈ (ਉਸ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਮੇਲ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਵੇ। (ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਿ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੀ ਹਾਂ। (ਹੇ ਮਾਂ!) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ) ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ (ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ) ਚੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਉਹ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ– ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ।

ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖਸਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਉਸ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੁਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਅੱਸੂ (ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਰੁੱਤ) ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।8।

BAARAH MAAHAA ~ THE TWELVE MONTHS: MAAJH, FIFTH MEHL, FOURTH HOUSE:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

In the month of Assu, my love for the Lord overwhelms me. How can I go and meet the Lord? My mind and body are so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. Won’t someone please come and lead me to him, O my mother. The Saints are the helpers of the Lord’s lovers; I fall and touch their feet. Without God, how can I find peace? There is nowhere else to go. Those who have tasted the sublime essence of His Love, remain satisfied and fulfilled. They renounce their selfishness and conceit, and they pray, “God, please attach me to the hem of Your robe.” Those whom the Husband Lord has united with Himself, shall not be separated from Him again. Without God, there is no other at all. Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Lord. In Assu, the Lord, the Sovereign King, has granted His Mercy, and they dwell in peace. || 8 ||
